Application instructions

Configure reviewed application behavior for a mind with optimistic concurrency.

Application instructions define the product behavior that accompanies a mind. Configure them separately from message requests; per-request system prompts are not accepted.

curl https://api.pluralmatter.com/v1/minds/mind_example/application-prompt \
  --request PUT \
  --header "Authorization: Bearer $PLURALMATTER_API_KEY" \
  --header "Content-Type: application/json" \
  --data '{
    "prompt": "Give concise, evidence-based product guidance.",
    "expectedVersion": 0
  }'

expectedVersion prevents one editor from silently overwriting another. A successful response returns the new prompt_version; send that value as expectedVersion on the next update. A version conflict returns 409.

Instructions are reviewed before activation. A rejected update returns 422 and does not replace the active version.

Never place credentials, access tokens, private keys, or data that the model should not see in application instructions.
